Accessibility at Spryng
We want people to read, listen and take part in ways that work for them. Accessibility is part of how we build and review this public website.
What we test
We run automated accessibility rules across the public pages, including page structure and text contrast, and check keyboard navigation and mobile layouts on key pages. Our reference is WCAG 2.2 Level AA. These checks are scoped tests, not certification or a claim that every page and assistive technology meets every requirement.
Last review: 2 November 2026. This statement describes the public Spryng website, not the authenticated research platform.
Using the site
- A Skip to content link appears when you start navigating with the keyboard.
- The story-placement demo supports arrow keys to move the marble and Home to place it in the centre. The placement is also given as text. Reveal opens the authored explanation and comparison.
- Stories have original-language text and English translations. Audio is optional and starts only when you ask for it.
- Public page content is rendered as HTML before interactive features load. JavaScript is needed for the demos, theme switch, interactive menus and forms.
- Light and dark themes use the same content. Your browser's zoom and text settings remain available.
- Native video players offer playback, volume and English captions where a caption track is available. Expand Read the video transcript for the same caption text without playing the video.
Known limitations
The automated and keyboard checks do not replace testing with people who use assistive technology. A complete spoken-output screen-reader review is still pending. We have not completed a word-for-word human review of all provider-supplied captions. Names, specialist terms and relevant sounds may need correction.
Keith McCandless's full interview uses an embedded YouTube player. Its controls and captions depend on that provider, and its English captions are auto-generated. We have tested its controls by keyboard, but have not yet confirmed them by mouse or touch. Some older interview transcripts include spoken repetitions. The multilingual story demos are fictional, with AI narration and translations that have not all been reviewed by native speakers.
